Le Luchterhand has built his career in agriculture and the dairy industry since 1975, when he was adopted from Vietnam and raised on a dairy farm in central Wisconsin. After earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from the University of Wisconsin–Platteville, he spent nearly two years supporting University of Wisconsin animal research facilities. During this time, he began as an intern and later served as Assistant Herd Manager at the UW Dairy Cattle Center, working directly with graduate students on nutrition research studies.
