Congratulations to the 18 recipients of the Elrod family scholarships, who were honored recently at Berry College. Dr. Charlie Elrod was on-hand to interact with the winners of both the Animal Science and Education Department scholarships endowed by the Elrod family.
The Elrod’s connection to Berry College dates back to the 1930s when Julius Elrod was a member of the faculty, eventually being named head of the agriculture department in the early 1940s. J. Mitchell Elrod, Charlie’s father, graduated from Berry in 1942 and served as the alumni association president for many years. Charlie graduated from Berry College in 1986 and worked on the forestry crew, beef crew and was assistant dairy manager while studying at Berry!
We are so proud of the Elrod family as they give back to Berry and the entire agriculture community! Congratulations all!
